Old Abbey of St Edmund Trail c.1990

 

The Abbey of St Edmund Resource Pack refers to the Abbey Visitor Centre that was established then in the Octagonal Tower of the West Front, known as Samson’s Tower, but now no longer exists. There was also an audio guide that went with the trail, but that no longer exists.

 

There was a trail with steel information panels which ran from the Visitor Centre around the Abbey site, most of these have now gone but they held interesting information.
